I have a confession to make: to help me fall asleep at night, I listen to podcast interviews with founders/companies I've never heard of (so I don't get TOO invested in the episode as this would keep me up). But in the process, I end up learning about new founders who are interesting and inspiring! Take Aurora James, the accidental founder of the sustainable shoe company - Brother Vellies. Amazing story behind her venture into bringing traditional African footwear to the US by selling a few pairs in a Lower East Side market (I think I know that market) by being the first Black female to be nominated (and awarded) by the CFDA!
