I've heard this story before, but this put the whole "cannibalism" angle on the back burner and really showed the humanity and just as importantly the humour of the survivors. Made me laugh more than I'd expect with a story like this.

Julie does a great podcast on the history of Nuclear war, bombs, anything to do with nuclear stuff, really. This one was amusing in places, kids getting inside buffer depots, eating 30 year old sweets and getting ill.
