I love listening to stories about cons and scams, but they’re almost always about the con artists. I loved that this focused on the victims and how even if you think you’re too savvy to be scammed, it can happen to anyone.

I also really liked the point that like sexual assault and rape, being scammed is a crime that holds a huge amount of shame for the victim and often subjects them to victim blaming from others. It’s no surprise that victims often don’t want to come forward.
