Unexpectedly thought provoking episode. McDonalds is easy to hate on, particularly in terms of its contribution to the obesity epidemic. But it has a very complex relationship with the impoverished communities where it may be the only mainstream service provider. In some ways, McDonalds’ approach...Show More

Ooooo McDonald's and their fries are a vice of mine. Not really about their company culture, but this is a super entertaining Reply All-esque episode about what happened to why McDonald's McFlurry treats are no longer mixed. And yes, that is "McFlurry treats", not "McFlurries". https://podyssey.fm...Show More

@rmmiller364 @epekilis Ok, just listened to this story. Loved it. The guy is so strategic in his activism. This episode is definitely not like the McFlurry episode, but it is very similar to the Biscuitville episode by Underunderstood, which I also highly recommend: https://podyssey.fm/episode/id74...Show More

A very unexpected story about McDonald’s! I think it goes to show how much we all need “third spaces” where we can create vital community ties.

French and French Fries. The story of a man who loved McDonald's in his community so much, he locked himself in one and poured gasoline all over his body. Ray Kroc wanted the golden arches in every town in America just like how churches are institutions. But I bet he didn't expect this!
