Can you believe that people fall for these types?
mmApr 12th, 2020
@mpr I wonder if a part of it is that people are falling for the trap of being able to make "easy money".

The finale episode! The first part of the episode was so sad to hear what One Coin is doing to developing countries where people are struggling. The last few minutes of the episode was O.M.G. π± I am screaming like how I was for Passenger List, but this one is real, not fiction. There must be a seas...Show More

I just listened the last episode. Daniel, the son, not been able of telling the truth to his mother and trying to convinced Jamie to do it. And the bishop, and the dentist, it is all really sad.

@molinos And the other sad part is the One Coin MLM promoters, Dr. Ruja etc. are all just prancing in freedom and continuing to milk it all in at the expense of everyone else :(

@mm Have you listened to Cautionary Tales from Pushkin Records with Tim Hartford? Just after finishing The missing cryptoqueen I listened to the episode called Buried by the Wall Street Crash. I highly recomended it to you because it explains very welll why people persuade in investing in One Coin.

@molinos I haven't, but I will look for it and listen. Will let you know my thoughts! Also, have you listened to The Dream? It's a deep dive into MLMs. IMO one of the best investigative podcasts out there that is truly a podcast-first audio experience: https://podyssey.fm/episode/id2428949-1%3A-Wan...Show More

I donβt ever remember being so charged about a podcast series since The Dropout, and Sanctioned. I canβt believe dagcoin is a thing. Gives bad names to legit crypto/blockchain companies. Definitely needs a season 2. Letβs demand it!

"Maybe IΒ΄m living in the old world where the ideal of journalism is that you present the facts and expose the wrong doing and Fred is living in a new world where facts are irrelevant" This but Jaimie Bartlett in this episode is what all this podcast is about. No matter what they discover, no matter...Show More

This podcast series really makes you reflect on how vulnerable people are to hope & optimism... and how easily that can be taken advantage of. Itβs easy to be dismissive of people who fall for these scams. However, itβs important to remember that it takes immense privilege to have the skills and re...Show More

@gndv This observation of yours is so true! "However, itβs important to remember that it takes immense privilege to have the skills and resources to see through them." And especially when it's about crypto where not a lot of people understand it. I doubt anyone knows or cares what a blockchain actua...Show More
