I agree with Nick’s comment that Luminary had the opportunity to add value as a paid podcast platform by giving an outlet for short-run shows to monetize without needing to depend on advertisers, who tend to favor shows on a more consistent release schedule.

Is podcasting the technology or community? What is the future of the "open podcasting" ecosystem? How do you solve the problem of being able to create "breakout podcast stars"? So many good questions about what the Luminary has brought into the spotlight in terms of the future of podcasting.
